TBR Tuesday (1)

Standard

Happy Tuesday!

I’m not sure if this is a meme…but I’m making it one for today! It’s April already, crazy. Time has been flying by. I haven’t done a TBR in awhile but I’m working on scheduling posts because right now I have some free time and I’ve been behind so here I am! My TBR for this month is just to finish some of the books that I’ve been reading. I have a habit of starting way too many books at once. Here is the list that I hope to finish.

First I would like to finish Tempted by P.C. Cast & Misery by Stephen King & finally finish The Dead Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan . I plan to also watch the movie Misery and review that as well. Of Mice and Men…wow…I should have finished this ages ago, but I have gotten so side-tracked. So overall I hope to finish reading four books and one movie. I think I can do it!

I’m not sure what book I want to read next, I can’t decide between Hate List by Jennifer Brown, Ophelia by Lisa Klein, Sovay by Celia Rees, or Skin Hunger by Kathleen Duey. Any suggestions?

So be on the lookout for all of that.

January TBR

Standard

Happy New Year Everyone!

Just wanted to update you on what I’m reading and what I plan to read for this January.

If you would like to share what you are reading or anything about these books feel free to comment.

The Gathering Storm by Robin Bridges (ARE)

Hardcover, 400 pages

Expected publication: January 10th 2012

“St. Petersburg, Russia, 1888. As she attends a whirl of glittering balls, royal debutante Katerina Alexandrovna, Duchess of Oldenburg, tries to hide a dark secret: she can raise the dead. No one knows. Not her family. Not the girls at her finishing school. Not the tsar or anyone in her aristocratic circle. Katerina considers her talent a curse, not a gift. But when she uses her special skill to protect a member of the Imperial Family, she finds herself caught in a web of intrigue.

An evil presence is growing within Europe’s royal bloodlines—and those aligned with the darkness threaten to topple the tsar. Suddenly Katerina’s strength as a necromancer attracts attention from unwelcome sources . . . including two young men—George Alexandrovich, the tsar’s standoffish middle son, who needs Katerina’s help to safeguard Russia, even if he’s repelled by her secret, and the dashing Prince Danilo, heir to the throne of Montenegro, to whom Katerina feels inexplicably drawn.

The time has come for Katerina to embrace her power, but which side will she choose—and to whom will she give her heart?”

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt (ARE)

Hardcover, 307 pages

Expected publication: January 10th 2012

“Eden Newman must mate before her 18th birthday in six months or she’ll be left outside to die in a burning world. But who will pick up her mate-option when she’s cursed with white skin and a tragically low mate-rate of 15%? In a post-apocalyptic, totalitarian, underground world where class and beauty are defined by resistance to an overheated environment, Eden’s coloring brands her as a member of the lowest class, a weak and ugly Pearl. If only she can mate with a dark-skinned Coal from the ruling class, she’ll be safe. Just maybe one Coal sees the Real Eden and will be her salvation her co-worker Jamal has begun secretly dating her. But when Eden unwittingly compromises her father’s secret biological experiment, she finds herself in the eye of a storm and thrown into the last area of rainforest, a strange and dangerous land. Eden must fight to save her father, who may be humanity’s last hope, while standing up to a powerful beast-man she believes is her enemy, despite her overwhelming attraction. Eden must change to survive but only if she can redefine her ideas of beauty and of love, along with a little help from her “adopted aunt” Emily Dickinson.”

Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld

Hardcover, 440 pages

Published October 6th 2009

“Prince Aleksander, would-be heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, is on the run. His own people have turned on him. His title is worthless. All he has is a battletorn war machine and a loyal crew of men.

Deryn Sharp is a commoner, disguised as a boy in the British Air Service. She’s a brilliant airman. But her secret is in constant danger of being discovered.

With World War I brewing, Alek and Deryn’s paths cross in the most unexpected way…taking them on a fantastical, around-the-world adventure that will change both their lives forever.”

I hope to read four books this month as usual, but I only have three planned for now. Hopefully I can get these three done. I have yet to finish my goal of four in a month. (Again, sorry for being a slow reader.)
